The Etruria Collection is inspired by the mastery of Etruscan artisans. Ancient Etruria was located in the region occupied by present-day Tuscany, at the top of the boot-shape of Italy.
The Etruscans were incredibly skilled jewellery craftsmen and worked in gold, bronze and also silver. They were very famous for the art of granulation, a goldsmith's technique whereby the surface of a jewel is decorated with small spheres, or granules, according to a design pattern. Many of these presented extreme intricacy on very small pieces, like rings and earrings. In this civilization, jewellery represented a sign of status and Etruscans took great pleasure in wearing ostentatious jewellery. Their belief in after-life permits us to enjoy the beauty of their work today, since much of Etruscan jewellery artifacts were found in tombs.
The Etruria Collection is worked in bronze and is not intended to replicate these antique beauties, but merely to honor the ability of these ancient people.;
